A portion of the funds -- 39.8 million kuna (5.27 million euros) --
will be ensured from the state budget and divided proportionally
amongst parties according to the number of MPs, and under a
condition that they have at least one MP in parliament.
The equal amount is allocated to each MP plus 10 percent to each MP
of the underrepresented gender (women), the committee's decision
noted.
The SDP with 44 MPs of whom 16 are women will in that case receive
12.086,697 kuna (approx. 1.58 million euros). The Croatian
Democratic Union (HDZ) with 35 MPs, six being women, will be given
9,436,106 kuna (1.24 million euros). The Croatian Peasants' Party
(HSS) will receive 4,320,464 kuna (572,243 euros) for its 16 MPs
including three women. The Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS)
will receive 3,790,346 kuna (502,032 euros) for 14 MPs including
three women. With ten MPs of whom one is a woman, Libra will be
allocated 2,677,097 kuna (354,582 euros). The Croatian Bloc has
five MPs - one woman - and so will receive 1,351,801 kuna (179,046
euros). The Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) has four MPs and is
entitled to 1,060,236 kuna (140,428 euros). The Democratic Centre
with its three MPs - one woman - will receive 821,683 kuna (108,832
euros). The Liberal Party (LS) has four MPs and will receive
1,060,236 kuna (132,762 euros). The Croatian National Party (HNS)
with two MPs - one woman - will receive 556.624 kuna (73,725 euros),

Democratic Party (HKDU), the Serb National Party (SNS) and the
Croatian Independent Democrats (HND) with one MP each will each
receive 265,059 kuna (35,107 euros).
The funding will be allocated to each party's central account in
three equal instalments and will be paid out by the Finance
Ministry.
The final instalment for 2003 will be paid towards the end of the
year.
