The committee demands that the process of privatisation in the
country be discontinued and that the state pay the hotel company a
debt of 7.5 million euros so that it could prepare for the tourist
season.
The government is urged to allocate 30% of Suncani Hvar's shares
from the Croatian Privatisation Fund (HFP) to the town of Hvar for
its long-term investments in the company and another 20% of shares
as compensation to former owners of nationalised hotels and land.
The committee also urges the resignations of the chairman of the
HFP's management board, Slavko Linic, HFP vice-president Kresimir
Starcevic, Tourism Minister Pave Zupan Ruskovic and the chairman of
the company's supervisory board, Jaksa Barbic.
The committee, established several days ago, today proposed that
the Hvar town council declare Parliament President Zlatko Tomcic an
honorary citizen of Hvar for his efforts to prevent the sale of the
hotel company.
