ZAGREB, Jan 17 (Hina) - The citizens' personal ID number (JMBG) will remain the basic identification of citizens as the key piece of information in the system of all state institutions, participants in Friday's meeting at the Labour
and Social Welfare Ministry agreed.

"The JMBG will not be cancelled because this piece of information
will continue to be the key in identifying citizens, who will decide
to whom and in which manner they will divulge their personal data,"
Assistant Labour Minister Vera Babic said after the meeting.
The participants of the meeting agreed on operative cooperation of
state institutions in the exchange of JMBG information -- every
interested institution will schedule a meeting with the Interior
Ministry and explain its technical requirements for the exchange of
information.
