The State Prosecutor's Office, which represents the plaintiff, the
Croatian Privatisation Fund, requested an urgent intervention by
the Commercial Court due to what it described as an extraordinary
situation in the company. Part of company workers have been on a
strike since last November. The Prosecutor's Office believes there
is founded suspicion that illegal acts were committed in the
company for a number of years, including the signing of harmful
contracts whose purpose was to illegally obtain shares and
ownership rights.
The Prosecutor's Office backed claims about the absence of
lawfulness in Croatia Bus with a report by the State Audit Office
enumerating a number of irregularities discovered in the company.
The decision on the Prosecutor's Office's request for the
introduction of temporary measures in the company was postponed
until January 28, by which time Leon Sulic is required to submit
evidence that he paid for the contentious shares of small
shareholders.
An almost identical request for the introduction of temporary
measures was submitted by part of dissatisfied employees and former
small shareholders about ten days ago, however, the court decided
that the request was unfounded.
