The committee, which is to co-ordinate activities regarding the
Pope's visit, should be headed by Vice Premier Goran Granic.
The visit, which has been scheduled for June, should include
Rijeka, Osijek, Djakovo, Zadar and Dubrovnik.
The government is also expected to support a proposal by Defence
Minister Zeljka Antunovic that Josip Lucic be appointed Armed
Forces' Chief-of-Staff.
The proposal would be forwarded to the parliament's Committee on
National Security and Lucic's appointment would then be confirmed
by a decree by President Stjepan Mesic.
