Croatia is about to enter a process which has wider social dimensions and which will affect the country's position in the EU, but also bring about the transformation of its society, ideas and values, it was said at the meeting.
The PM and his guests underlined the need to strengthen democratic standards and introduce new ones, as well as promote the culture of dialogue and tolerance. They also stressed the need to promote the values of the new Europe and its constitution and pointed to the harmful effects of the restoration of totalitarian regimes.
In that context, the participants discussed possibilities of prosecuting public glorification of totalitarian regimes, taking into consideration the relevant legislation of European countries, notably those in the EU.
