would continue caring for the most vulnerablesocial groups and that she would in particular protect the dignity ofCroatian war veterans and the Homeland War.
VARAZDIN, Dec 29 (Hina) - The presidential candidate of the ruling
Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) party, Jadranka Kosor, held an election rally
in the northern city of Varazdin on Wednesday, reiterating that she would
continue caring for the most vulnerable social groups and that she would in
particular protect the dignity of Croatian war veterans and the Homeland
War."If you support me, I will show that presidential duties can be
performed with dignity, with fewer jokes and with fewer coffees," Kosor said,
alluding to her main rival, the incumbent President Stjepan Mesic.
Kosor later stopped in the nearby village of Turcin where she unveiled a
plate in the main square bearing the name of Dr Franjo Tudjman. She also held
a rally in Cakovec, where she said that she would submit a request at a
government session next month for the termination of the agreement on the
Druzba Adria oil pipeline project.
