The presidential candidate of the Croatian Democratic Union, Jadranka Kosor, stands out as a candidate because she is supported by the strongest party and she is using in a clever way the fact that there is a large number of candidates, Djukic said.
Stating that Serb property in Croatia was being sold without the knowledge of its owners, Djukic said that there were about 10,000 suspicious transactions which had affected some 40,000 Croatian Serbs who Djukic believes are the victims of manipulation in the process of return and property restitution. These serious criminal acts can be considered part of ethnic cleansing and genocide, he said.
The SNS leader criticised the vice-president of the Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS), Milorad Pupovac, for his belated reaction to the problem and claimed that Pupovac had decided to react because he was preparing for the upcoming local elections.
Djukic holds the government and Pupovac equally responsible for the violation of Serb rights.
He recalled that the government was bound to return all Serb property by the end of this year. Only 40 percent of private property that was used for temporary accommodation has been repossessed by its owners, while 20 percent of forcibly occupied property has been returned to its owners, Djukic said.
