Sanader said in the message that Croatia was nearing the end of a year in which efforts were continued to build a state respecting the interests of its citizens and making efforts to improve their living conditions. "That is a year in which we made big steps towards an important goal, admission to the European Union. We are now expected to make a joint effort to consistently implement reforms and negotiate.
"We are facing the demanding task of developing Croatia's economy, promoting production and boosting exports, all of which are the main conditions for higher employment and a life more worthy of all those who live off of their work. We are counting on your support on that difficult path," the PM said.
