The event was attended by Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, Foreign Minister Miomir Zuzul and Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks.
HSP leader Anto Djapic said that the arrival of the leaders of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) showed that the HSP was a respectable party.
Djapic expressed hope that his party would see a further rise in its ratings next year, and that without the HSP it would not be possible to form local councils in most counties and towns after local elections.
The reception was also attended by representatives of the leading opposition Social Democratic Party (SDP), Miland Bandic and Tonino Picula, Social Liberal Party (HSLS) Secretary-General Alen Lochert, and officials from several embassies.
