ZAGREB, Dec 20 (Hina) - The parliamentary opposition Liberal Party
(LS) has expressed satisfaction with the fact that Croatia will be able to open
membership talks with the European Union (EU) on 17 March 2005 and proposed
that the government and the parliament define a negotiating strategy, set up
negotiating teams and form competent working groups that would act as "logistic
support" to Croatian negotiators.According to a press release issued and signed by the LS secretary
general, Karl Gorinsek on Monday, this party supports a consensus among the
ruling majority and the opposition on this matter.
The LS criticises attempts to politicise the Druzba-Adria project for
petty political purposes.
