One of organisers of Croatia's WW2 resistance movement dies at 93

ZAGREB, Dec 19 (Hina) - Marko Belinic, a politician and one of theorganisers of the World War Two resistance movement in Croatia, diedin Zagreb on Saturday night at the age of 93, his family reported.
ZAGREB, Dec 19 (Hina) - Marko Belinic, a politician and one of the organisers of the World War Two resistance movement in Croatia, died in Zagreb on Saturday night at the age of 93, his family reported.

Belinic joined the Partisan movement in 1941. He was a member of the Politbureau of the Central Committee of the Croatian Communist Party and served as a councillor in ZAVNOH and AVNOJ (Partisan-led Croatian and Yugoslav wartime legislatures).

Belinic was awarded a memorial medal for his role in the anti-fascist struggle and was declared a national hero. In 2003, President Stjepan Mesic awarded him a high state decoration.
