KOTOR, Dec 13 (Hina) - Early elections in Montenegro's Kotor on
Sunday, at which more than 17,000 people voted for representatives in the local
assembly and directly voted for a mayor, were held without major
irregularities, NGO observers reported.For the first time after 66 years, a Croatian party took part in the
elections --the Croatian Civil Initiative (HGI) -- but it did not nominate its
candidate for the mayor.
The polls were closed at 20.00 hours and according to the Centre For
Democratic Transition, more than 54 percent of the registered voters cast their
ballots.
Preliminary results are expected on Monday.
