Pasalic said that the HTV had been reporting for years about him as the person who embezzled the funds of the "Zaklada Hrvatskog drzavnog zavjeta" foundation, but failed to inform the public of the Supreme Court's decision confirming that there had been no irregularities in the operation of the foundation.
He accused President Stjepan Mesic, Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, Sabor Speaker Vladimir Seks and a former head of the President's Office, Hrvoje Sarinic, of making false statements about him.
Although he wanted to address reporters in front of the office of Croatian Radio Television (HRT) director Mirko Galic, Pasalic was not allowed to enter the building and had to address reporters outside the building.
HRT spokesman Janos Roemer said that Pasalic was not allowed to enter the building because only the HRT was allowed to hold news conferences inside the building.
In a statement issued subsequently, the HRT dismissed Pasalic's accusations that it had violated his right to the truth by not sending reporters to yesterday's news conference.
The HRT broadcasts to which Mr. Pasalic is referring carried information by official state sources, and in yesterday's central news broadcast the HRT reported about the said news conference and offered Pasalic to give a statement in front of cameras or over the phone, but he refused it, reads the statement.
