The ILS recommended the implementation of tax reforms, acceleration of the privatisation process and liberalisation, labour legislation reform, the rule of law and the protection of ownership rights, free trade and market competition, the elimination of corruption and reduction of bureaucracy,
The recommendations, aimed at encouraging Croatia's economic growth, were adopted at the ILS meeting which was held in Zagreb in early November.
The government is recommended to accelerate the privatisation process, which includes the cancellation of public and private partnerships in tourism and real estate. The liberalisation of some sectors should put an end to monopolies and enable a healthy market competition.
Labour legislation reform is aimed at reducing contributions to less than 40 percent of the monthly wage and reducing the protection of labour rights.
