Croatia-Austria economic cooperation is constantly improving and for Austria Croatia is a leading country in Southeast Europe in almost all areas, the head of the Department for Southeast Europe in the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, Franz Roessler, said.
He stressed that Austrians saw Croatia practically as a domestic market and added that Austrian companies invested close to 2.5 billion euros in Croatia.
An advisor on economic affairs in the Croatian Embassy in Vienna, Janko Dezelic, presented the current state of economic affairs, trends and movements in Croatia, and said that the two countries' trade this year was expected to amount to 1.7 billion euros, which is almost 25 percent more than last year.
Croatia-Austria trade in 2004 totalled EUR1.4 billion, of which one billion covers imports from Austria and 400 million euros covers Croatia's exports to Austria.
