MOSTAR, Nov 30 (Hina) - A prosecutor of the Bosnian department for
organised crime and corruption, Mats Mattson, on Tuesday officially informed
the Croat member of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency, Dragan Covic, of a
request for an investigation into him in connection with the Lijanovici meat
industry case, Covic's attorney Josip Muselimovic, who was present at the
meeting between Covic and Mattson, told Hina.Muselimovic said the request for the investigation could not have
anything to do with Covic and declined to speak about the content of the
investigation order.
While holding the office of the Bosnian Federation Finance Minister,
Covic exempted the Lijanovic meat industry from paying taxes and thus violated
the customs law, Bosnian media reported earlier.
According to the media, Covic thus damaged the Federation's budget by
several dozen million convertible marks.
