The seminar was organised by the Italian Foreign Trade Institute and the Italian Association of Export Consortia (Federexport), in cooperation with the Croatian Employers Association.
The seminar, which pooled some 100 representatives of Croatian economic institutions and companies, was addressed by Federexport secretary Lorenzo Papi, who said that the model of integration of small and medium-sized companies into consortia significantly contributed to the strengthening of the Italian economy, especially its exports.
The model has been implemented in Italy for more than 30 years and 350 such consortia today account for some 10 percent of Italian exports. Of the total number of such consortia, 140 are members of Federexport and they consist of more than 5,000 small and medium-sized companies, with annual exports totalling about 16 million euros or 6.3 percent of all exports, Papi said.
The main purpose of the consortia is to help business people in the presentation and sale of their products.
