The event pooled some 20 participants, who were welcomed by the director of the "Ivo Pilar" institute, Vlado Sakic.
Sakic said that in recent years the media had blurred the truth about the Homeland War and "Flash" and "Storm" liberation operations.
"There are structures which want to prove the theory that Croats are unable to establish their own state, and if they succeed in doing so, their state must be founded on crime," Sakic said.
"This meeting is our contribution to the defence of the truth about the Homeland War," he added.
The seminar includes a number of lectures on the liberation operation "Western Slavonia" and the geo-strategic, military, historical, legal and international aspects of Croatian liberation operations.
The seminar was organised in cooperation with the Centre for the Research of War Crimes in Vukovar and it is taking place ahead of 18 November, the day when the 1991 sacrifice of Vukovar is remembered.
A number of events will be organised in this eastern Croatian city on Thursday to commemorate the 13th anniversary of the defeat of forces defending the city and the suffering of Croatian soldiers and civilians in the Serb aggression and occupation of Vukovar.
