ZAGREB, Nov 10 (Hina) - An international seminar called "Human Rights, Migrations, Education - Challenge to European Schools Today" for elementary and high schools teachers, started in Zagreb on Wednesday.

The event was organised by the Migration and Nationality Institute.

The seminar is aimed at promoting the education of students.

The event, which lasts between November 10 and 12, pooled teachers of history, geography, sociology, political and economic affairs, Croatian and foreign languages.

Talks will be given by lecturers from Norway.

The present were also addressed by the Norwegian Ambassador to Croatia, Knut Toraasen.

The seminar is part of the international project called "Migrations and Inter-cultural Relations", financed by the European Commission. The programme for the period between 2002 and 2005 includes eight countries -- Norway, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Ireland, the Czech Republic and Slovenia. Croatia is an associated member.
