In his address to the participants, Sanader spoke about faiths in Europe and the European Union. He said that an example of successful dialogue between different faiths was his government's relationship with the Orthodox minority, which he added was very good.
The PM stated the need for the EU to be connected to its Christian roots. He also spoke about Croatia's position and prospects on the road to the EU.
In an interview with the German media earlier in the day, Sanader stressed the support Croatia was receiving from Germany in its efforts to join the EU.
He repeated that Croatia would start EU admission talks in March 2005 at the latest, for which he received support yesterday at a meeting with German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker.
He said that on 17 December, when the European Council would most probably confirm the start of talks with Croatia, would be a great day not only for Croatia but for all countries in the region, because Croatia would see to it that the European prospects of south-east European countries were not closed.
Sanader declined comment on several occasions on his position regarding the possible admission of Turkey to the EU, stating that it was too soon for Croatia to make such comments.
The PM also held talks with Nuremberg Mayor Klemenz Gsell.
On Friday Sanader will visit Munich, where he will meet Bavarian Prime Minister and CSU president Edmund Stoiber and hold a speech at a CSU congress taking place on Friday and Saturday.
