The Croatian officials and its Bulgarian hosts discussed possibilities for the promotion of cooperation between the two ministries, notably in efforts to counter organised crime, the Croatian interior ministry's spokesman, Zlatko Mehun, told Hina on the phone.
The talks also focused on models for enhancing cooperation in the fight against terrorism and illegal migrations and on the exchange of experience in organising border police in accordance with European standards.
The officials also talked about accelerated preparations for the signing a bilateral agreement on information exchange.
After the talks, Bulgarian Minister Petkanov voiced satisfaction with the Croatian delegation's visit and added that he hoped that bilateral cooperation would enhance the security in south-east Europe.
Mlinaric described the visit to the Bulgarian capital as yet another fruitful meeting between senior officials of the two countries on their road towards Europe.
He invited his host to pay a return visit to Zagreb next year.
