ZAGREB, Nov 15 (Hina) - An opinion poll conducted by the Croatian
Helsinki Committee on Human Rights (HHO), published in a book called "Elections
in the Media - Croatia 2003" showed a very good professional quality and
impartiality in reporting about the last parliamentary election campaign, the
HHO Media Council said at a news conference on Monday.HHO president Zarko Puhovski said the Council advocated amendments to a
regulation from Croatia's election acts which encroaches upon the editorial
autonomy of the electronic media.
According to him, the presidential elections are regulated by the
outdated law which recognises only public television and prevents the
autonomous activities and pluralism.
