The only correct fact in the article Globus published in its latest issue is the fact that Sanader met with SDP leader Ivica Racan, which the public has been informed of, read the press release.
Sanader and Racan did not discuss the possibility of the SDP's Zeljka Antunovic being appointed chairwoman of the parliamentary committee on the prevention of conflict of interest, as alleged in the article, or the president of the republic, or a possible HDZ-SDP coalition in Zagreb, the press release said.
Sanader and Racan talked about lobbying for Croatian interests within the European Union integration process, in which the HDZ and the SDP can help considerably through the international political associations they are affiliated with, about defusing political tensions, and about the possible change of the Constitution in connection with the date of presidential elections, read the press release.
It added that all other allegations in the article were insinuations and irresponsible speculation.
Globus claims to have learned that Sanader and Racan, "far from the public eye, and from their coalition partners as well, held a secret meeting in mid-October" at Sanader's office, at which they agreed on a number of important issues.
