"According to our information, the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo has won more than 50 percent of the vote and will be the main party in the new parliament," he said, adding that only after the publication of the official results would it be known if his party could form the government by itself or if it would have to form a coalition with another parliamentary party.
Democratic Party presidency member Xhavit Haliti told the press this party had won 32-33 percent of the vote.
Alliance for the Future of Kosovo leader Ramush Haradinaj said this party had won close to nine percent of the vote.
The leading Albanian parties in the province said they were happy the elections were held in a peaceful atmosphere, without incidents, and in accordance with international standards.
