PRISTINA, Oct 20 (Hina) - Despite invitations to participate in the
parliamentary election forwarded by representatives of the international
community, Kosovo institutions and Serb President Boris Tadic, the
anti-election committee continues to hold protest rallies calling on Serbs not
to go to the polls on October 23.Close to 2,000 people protested in the northern Serb-dominated part of
Mitrovinca on Wednesday, calling on Serbs not to go to the polls.
They criticised Serbian President Tadic for "breaking up the Serb unity"
by calling on Kosovo Serbs to vote. The protesters demanded autonomy in
Serb-populated towns and asked that the Serbian government's plan be the
foundation for the solving of problems in Kosovo. A similar protest rally was
held in Gracanica near Pristina on Tuesday.
