SUBOTICA, Oct 22 (Hina) - The Croat community in Serbia was satisfied with the meeting between the prime ministers of Serbia and Croatia because such meetings could improve the two countries' relations and the position of Croats in Serbia and help the conclusion of new agreements, the leaders of the Croat national minorities in Serbia said on Friday, commenting on yesterday's meeting between Ivo Sanader and Vojislav Kostunica in Thessaloniki.

"From the future meetings in Zagreb and Belgrade we expect the signing of agreements on the protection minorities, permanent annulment of the visa regime and more intense economic cooperation," said Josip Ivanovic, the president of the Croat National Council in Serbia and Montenegro.

The President of the Democratic Alliance of Croats in Vojvodina Petar Kuntic said that every step forward in Zagreb-Belgrade relations gave a new hope to Croats in Serbia, particularly when talks were held on the highest level.

"Such talks have a positive effect on the climate in the country and on solving many outstanding issues of the cultural autonomy of Croats in Serbia," Kuntic said and positively assessed "Prime Minister Sanader and Foreign Minister Miomir Zuzul's wise and constructive policy".
