ZAGREB, Oct 1 (Hina) - The second round of elections of heads of municipalities and mayors will take place in Serbia on Sunday, and in the northern province of Vojvodina there will be also the second round of elections for the 120-seat provincial assembly.

During the first round of the elections on 19 September, the Serb Radical Party won 21 seats, the Democratic Party (DS) 15, and the "Together for Vojvodina" coalition and the local Hungarians' alliance each won six seats in the Vojvodina parliament.

The first round of the polls was carried out in line with the proportional representation system and a half of the Vojvodina assembly members were elected on 19 September. The other half will be elected according to the first-past-the post system.

The only political party of ethnic Croats, the Democratic Alliance of Vojvodina Croats (DSHV), will most certainly have one representative in the assembly, Duje Runje. After the second round, the DSHV may have another deputy, the party's chief, Petar Kuntic, in the provincial parliament.

On Sunday, voters will also choose mayors of Vojvodina's two largest cities, Novi Sad and Subotica.

In Novi Sad, Borislav Novakovic, the candidate of the DS of Serbian President Boris Tadic, and Maja Gojkovic of the Serb Radical Party led by ICTY indctee Vojislav Seselj, will run in the mayoral race.

In Subotica, citizens will vote either for the DS candidate Oliver Dulic or the candidate of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians, Geza Kucsera. Local Croats have been called by the DSHV to vote for the latter.
