ZAGREB, Oct 13 (Hina) - Croatian Justice Minister Vesna Skare Ozbolt onWednesday met the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe(OSCE) special rapporteur for the prevention of people trafficking,Helga Konrad, who is on a
working visit to Croatia, the JusticeMinistry said in a statement.
ZAGREB, Oct 13 (Hina) - Croatian Justice Minister Vesna Skare Ozbolt
on Wednesday met the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE)
special rapporteur for the prevention of people trafficking, Helga Konrad, who
is on a working visit to Croatia, the Justice Ministry said in a
statement.Konrad informed Skare-Ozbolt about the OSCE's efforts to improve
coordination among south-east European countries in the fight against people
trafficking and pointed to a proposal for the establishment of a new mechanism
consisting of special rapporteurs in charge of preventing trade in humans on
the national level, the statement said.
The Croatian justice minister acquainted the OSCE official with
Croatia's legislative activities aimed at combating trade in humans, including
recent legal changes which define trade in humans and slavery as a criminal
offence.
