ZAGREB, Oct 19 (Hina) - The Government Commission on Human Rights heldits first meeting on Tuesday to discuss preparation of a nationalprogramme for the protection and promotion of human rights in Croatiafor the 2004-2008 period, the
government public relations office saidin a press release.
ZAGREB, Oct 19 (Hina) - The Government Commission on Human Rights
held its first meeting on Tuesday to discuss preparation of a national
programme for the protection and promotion of human rights in Croatia for the
2004-2008 period, the government public relations office said in a press
release.The preparation of the programme will be coordinated by the Office for
Human Rights. The programme should be completed and submitted to the government
by mid-November, after which it will be sent to the Parliament for
adoption.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, also
focused on the preparation of a national strategy for the prevention of all
forms of discrimination. This project is being coordinated by the Justice
Ministry and is expected to be completed by the end of next month.
