Croatia will complete negotiations and it will be ready for full membership by 2007, while the date of entry will be set by the European Union, Sanader said. Croatia's macroeconomic and political stability will open the door to the country for a fast pace of negotiations, Sanader said and added that Croatia's example would be a good signal to other countries in the region. The map of a united Europe will not be whole without all Southeast European countries, the PM said.
Answering to a reporter's question after the lecture, Sanader said the Croatian government was devoted to democracy, the rule of law and respect for human and minority rights. Those are the foundations on which Croatia will build its relations with the European Union and all neighbouring countries, Sanader was quoted as saying.
