We hope that direct dialogue will be established with Belgrade, because it will help improve the situation in Kosovo, said Dutch Ambassador Barend va der Heijden, whose country currently holds the rotating EU presidency.
The ambassadors issued their call after meeting Kosovo Premier Bajram Rexhepi in Pristina on Wednesday afternoon.
Heijden said that the European Union wanted more security and a multiethnic society in Kosovo. He called on the Kosovo Serbs to participate in local elections next month.
