Vajgl reiterated that Ljubljana did not rule out international arbitration as last resort, adding that his ministry was preparing for that option and that it had collected a plethora of documents for that purpose.
Vajgl noted that a possible decision on arbitration could only be taken by the new Slovene parliament after elections on October 3.
He said that a bilateral agreement would be the first step in settling the outstanding issues with Croatia, particularly those relating to the border.
"At a meeting of the permanent representatives of the EU member states in Brussels earlier in the day, Slovenia presented its proposed agreement on avoidance of incidents in disputed border areas with Croatia," Vajgl said, adding that the proposal had received a positive response in Brussels and that he also expected a positive response from Croatia.
