The meeting was held under the auspices of the European Commission. the Stability Pact and the Croatian ministry, whose representatives also took part in the meeting together with representatives of a regional regulatory body for gas, the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the United States Agency for International Development, representatives of Albania, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria. Croatia, Italy, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey, Serbia and Montenegro and the U.N. Mission in Kosovo.
Opening the seminar, assistant power and mining minister Zeljko Tomsic stressed the importance of natural gas for Croatia, as it accounts for 27 percent of Croatia's total primary forms of energy.
