The statement, which explains the position of HRT director Mirko Galic and Croatian Television (HTV) news desk editor Vladimir Roncevic, reads that yesterday's meeting "did not result in agreement to the effect that the HRT's editorial policy caused the marginalising of the parliament and its president and there is no scenario the purpose of which would be to marginalise and ridicule the parliament in HTV reports".
"Mirko Galic and Vladimir Roncevic said that they did not shun well argumented discussion on professional omissions which did occur in programmes. They stated that the Sabor, as the founder of the HRT, was a good place for such a discussion, but not for the assessment of the editorial policy of the HTV's news desk," reads the statement.
The two officials therefore proposed that this be discussed at one of the future sessions of the HRT's Programmes Council, which the Parliament Presidency accepted.
The HRT officials dismissed Seks' statement that Galic and Roncevic had earlier requested meetings with him in parliament, adding that the meetings had taken place at Seks' invitation.
