MOSTAR, Aug 27 (Hina) - Croat member of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency Dragan Covic on Friday gave his testimony about the business activities of Hercegovacka bank to a prosecutor of a special department with the Bosnian Prosecutor's Office in charge of white collar crime and corruption, John Mcnair.

"Covic voluntarily arrived in the Bosnian Prosecutor's Office this morning to give his statement about the Hercegovacka bank case," prosecutor McNair told reporters. He, however, did not wish to disclose details.

Covic neither confirmed nor denied that he gave a testimony in the Prosecutor's Office.

According to a source close to the Prosecutor's Office, Covic on Friday spoke as a witness for the defence of the former member Croat member of the Bosnian Presidency and Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia Herzegovina president, Ante Jelavic, who was accused of abusing his position in the establishment and the work of Hercegovacka bank.

The trial in the Hercegovacka bank case will most probably commence on September 23.
