Kostunica accused the international forces in Kosovo (the UN-led KFOR) of having taken care more about itself than about the situation in the area for the last few years, despite warnings from Belgrade. The premier voiced regret at the violence which erupted during demonstrations in the streets of Serbian cities and the demolition of mosques in Belgrade and Nis, and appealed to protesters not to resort to violence as "the upshot of every violence is violence".
