ZAGREB, March 16 (Hina) - President Stjepan Mesic on Tuesday departed for an Arabian tour which takes him to Qatar, Syria and Jordan, three countries he is visiting for the first time, Mesic's office said in a statement.

Given that the visit is primarily aimed at improving bilateral
economic relations, Mesic is accompanied by a business delegation.
He is due to meet Qatar's Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani,
Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad, Jordan's King Abdullah II and Prime
Minister Faisal El-Fayez.
