According to a press release issued by the government, the head of the
delegation, Vahit Erdem, who chairs the subcommittee, expressed full
support for Croatia's bid to join the Alliance in the near future and
offered assistance on that path.
PM Sanader said his country would be fully prepared to join NATO in
2006 and the European Union in 2007-2008. He went on to say that
Croatia's admission to the Alliance and the EU within those time
frames would be a truly positive signal to all countries in the region
and an encouragement to carry out internal reforms.
