ZAGREB CITY COMPANIES STAGE HOUR-LONG WARNING STRIKE

ZAGREB, March 10 (Hina) - Wednesday's one-hour warning strike in 11 Zagreb city companies passed peacefully and without any consequences to the normal functioning of the capital, the unions of workers employed in said companies said.#L# If the city authorities reject their demand for a 17-percent salary raise which should adjust salaries in 23 city companies with those in the city authorities, the unions will stage an eight-hour strike on Friday and a general strike on Monday until their demands are met, it was announced. Taking part in today's industrial action were workers employed at the central bus terminal, cemeteries, in city parking, urban sanitation, gas supply, markets, public transport, and at the Zagreb Trade Fair.
