Spain is ready to help Croatia to promote its companies on the Spanish
market and it supports efforts the Croatian government is making so as
to join the European Union as soon as possible, the Spanish ambassador
said and added Spanish businessmen were particularly interested in
cooperation with Croatia in the tourist sector, the food-processing
industry and the privatisation process.
Croatian-Spanish exchange last year increased by 42% in relation to
2002. Howerver, Croatia's exports to Spain totalled US39.1 million
(10% increase in relation to 2002) while Spain's export to Croatia
amounted to US269.9 million (48.2% more than in 2002). Exchange with
Spain comprises only 1.5 percent of Croatia's overall foreign
exchange.
