ZAGREB, March 9 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on Tuesday met a delegation of the Israeli-Croatian Friendship League, headed by president Samuel Schlesinger, the President's Office said in a statement.

President Mesic expressed satisfaction with the good relations between
the two countries, as well as an interest in improving economic
cooperation. He said Croatian ports were a possible gateway to the
Central and South-East European markets for Israeli products.
Schlesinger said that relations between the two countries were
friendly and that they were constantly improving, particularly after
Mesic's visit to Israel in October 2001. He thanked Mesic for his
understanding of the Middle-East processes and representatives of the
League welcomed the possibility of using the port of Rijeka to place
their products on the European market.
