"Croatia does not want to be only an object of monitoring but it wants
to assume a more active role in the OSCE and has an ambition to
participate in the Organisation's monitoring missions," Sanader said
after the meeting with Kubis. He added that the OSCE Secretary General
accepted his proposal.
Commenting on refugee returns, Sanader sad Croatia needed investments
in areas of special state interest, and informed Kubis of bills which
were being drawn up with the aim of encouraging potential investors to
invest in the said areas, thus facilitating the process of return.
The talks which I have held in Zagreb show that Croatia is a country
with a very clear strategy and policy oriented towards EuroAtlantic
integration, and the OSCE can help it accomplish its objectives, Kubis
said.
The OSCE official went on to say that he noticed in Croatia a very
open atmosphere, not only on the political level but in society as
well, and that all questions, including the most difficult ones, such
as the return of refugees, should be discussed.
I am encouraged by a very clear, transparent and Europe-oriented
policy of the incumbent government, he said.
