ZAGREB, March 8 (Hina) - The Croatian Christian Democratic Party (HKDS) said in a press release on Monday it was against Croatian generals being sent to the U.N. war crimes tribunal in The Hague because it wished to protect Croatia as
a sovereign and law-based state.

The party called on the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) to
stick to its pre-election vows, respect Croatia as a law-governed
state, and not extradite Croatian citizens to foreign tribunals on the
basis of either old or fresh indictments.
