The delegation was led by the head of the Moldovan government's office
for ethnic minorities, Tatiana Mlecico.
Also present at the meeting was Michael Guet of the Council of
Europe's department for the Roma. He supported the aforementioned
programme, saying it was necessary to secure funds for its
implementation.
The president of the Medjimurje County Roma Council, Milan Ignac, has
recently said the Medjimurje population shows great solidarity in the
settlement of Roma issues. He told Hina today he rejected the
accusations of the Croatian Helsinki Committee for Human Rights and
some other institutions that the Roma were discriminated against and
segregated in Medjimurje. The situation is quite the opposite, he
said.
