has issued the Croatian edition of Margaret Thatcher's book
"Statecraft".#L#
In the book, which bears the subtitle "Strategies for a Changing
World", the 1979-1990 Prime Minister of Great Britain writes about the
challenges of the new millennium, drawing from her long political
experience.
The book also contains a chapter on the wars in the Balkans, in which
Thatcher's visit to Vukovar in September 1998 is described.
Thatcher claims that Western leaders made three crucial mistakes -
they tried to keep Yugoslavia together when it was obvious that this
was no longer possible, imposed a ban on arms imports for the entire
area of the former Yugoslavia, and became, in a way, accomplices to
committed crimes by trying to impartially divide responsibility for
the events, when it was obvious that one side was the aggressor and
the other the victim.
