ZAGREB, Feb 26 (Hina) - The club of parliamentary deputies of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has voiced concern over the arbitrariness and undemocratic moves which the ruling Croatian Democratic Union's (HDZ) representatives carried out in the Sabor.#L# SDP MPs, who held a news conference in the parliament on Thursday, accused the Sabor's head Vladimir Seks and the head of the elections and nominations commission, Branimir Glavas, "of carrying out violence over parliamentarism, and of marginalising the role of the parliament". They also believe that the session are being conducted below the achieved level of parliamentary democracy. SDP MPs complained that opposition deputies were not allowed to speak, that the parliament's rule book was being interpreted in an arbitrary manner and that opposition's motions were added to the bottom of the agenda. The manner in which Seks and Glavas interpret and carry out regulations of the rule book indicates their intention to shun democracy and also the Croatian public which has the right to know what is going on in parliament, an SDP vice president, Zeljka Antunovic said. Another SDP official, Gordana Sobol, said that the the fears proved to be founded that Prime Minister Ivo Sanader would tour Europe, promoting 'the washed face' of his HDZ, and let his party's members to carry out the real agenda of the HDZ in parliament, which was even worse than before 2000.
