The public should be informed of the details of the contract and high
fees paid to consulting agencies during one of the coming sessions,
Prime Minister Ivo Sanader said at Wednesday's session of his
cabinet.
The government today gave the green light to paying additional 5.56
million kuna of the budgetary funds to consultants, and thus the
amount paid to the consulting firms, engaged in INA's privatisation,
would rise to 77 million kuna, Economy Minister Branko Vukelic said.
The former government paid 21.9 million kuna to the consultant
agencies' accounts, and additional 49.6 million kuna last December as
a reward for the successfully done job.
The incumbent premier and ministers agree that this government should
consider a report on the process of INA's privatisation.
I do not want to prejudge any outcome, the PM said. Perhaps,
everything is all right, but the government and the public must be
acquainted with the full truth, Sanader said.
The Ivica Racan cabinet sold 25 percent plus one share of INA to
Hungary's MOL at the price of 505 million dollars. The financial
consultant in the process were Deutsche Bank and Price
WaterhouseCoopers and the legal consultant was Baker&Boots.
