ZAGREB, Jan 23(Hina) - Tourists in the Croatian capital spend between
69 and 179 dollars per day, which depends on the sort of the
accommodation. According to an opinion poll, conducted from May to
October 2003, guests in Zagreb are satisfied with hospitality, their
personal security and safety, the city's offers for shopping and
Zagreb's landmarks, but they are dissatisfied with the city's
infrastructure, public transport, a lack of parking lots and a lack of

The survey, which was carried out by the Zagreb-based institute for
tourism, covered 1,190 respondents-tourists. Of this number, 387 were
guests staying in hotels, and 803 were guests staying in other forms
of accommodation at 16 locations in the city.
According to the results of the poll, presented last Friday by the
local tourist office, business reasons were the most frequent motive
for the arrival of guests in Zagreb, namely 48 percent of respondents
were on a business trip to Zagreb. Forty percent (40%) of the
respondents cited possibilities for entertainment and having a nice
time as reasons for their visit to Zagreb.
Foreign guests are preponderantly Germans, Italians, Americans,
Britons and Austrians.
