Croatians, according to the latest figures which the Central Bureau of

Thus, employment in Croatia was falling for the third consecutive
month. In September, the number of employed persons decreased by 0.6
percent as against August, while in October the decrease was 0.5
percent in comparison to the number of employed persons in September.
This fall was ascribed to the end of the summer tourist season.
In November the number of employed Croatians fell by 0.4 percent as
against October. The highest drop of 8.7 percent in the number of
employees was registered in restaurants and hotels.
An unemployment rate increased from 18.6 percent in October to 18.9
percent in November 2003 when 316,952 people were on the dole.
